Come, and join Me for breakfast. John 21:12
The disciples had just come back from fishing. After a long night of work, they find out a table has been prepared for them. An irresistible invitation
Breakfast is the first meal of the day (usually in the morning) – the breaking of the night-long fast.
What an invitation? Most of all, Jesus fixed it! Charcoal fire was laid with fish on the grill. He had bread too. And if they fancied a cuppa, He would have fixed some too. What an experience? A treat to a sumptuous and delicious meal, by the sea-side.
Breakfast has been considered the most important meal of the day. I believe in the power of the first, in that whatever you do first could set the tone for the rest. When you pull up your chair to God’s table to eat the bread of life first thing, it equips you for the day. Jesus set the atmosphere:
There was fire signifying warmth, bread for sustenance and fish, productivity and abundance. This is all youget when you join Jesus for brekkie.
I don’t know about you but I could with some TLC, strength and an abundance of faith today. If you want some, all you’ve got to do is:
- Come- draw closer and
- Join- link up
