Cry Out!

Dear Friend,

Are you believing God for something? Do you need him to show up and turn your situation around? Well, I heard God say – Cry out!

David in Psalm 51: 17 said:

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit.
A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Click below to listen as I expound more in today’s edition of “I Heard a Word”. It is my prayer that you are not only touched but also healed to the glory of God.

God bless,

You’re coming out…loaded!

Hello Friend,

Thank God it’s Friday (TGIF), but more importantly because I heard a word – I am coming out loaded!

Then the LORD said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there. But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions. And I will cause the Egyptians to look favourably on you. They will give you gifts when you go so you will not leave empty-handed. Genesis 15:13, 14; Exodus 3:21

This text reminds me of a word God spoke to me a few months ago – Fulfillment comes! Take time to read it if you haven’t already. In the text above, God tells Abraham aforetime that his seed would go into slavery and be mistreated.

I would have stopped God right on his tracks if that were me. Excuse me, what kind of a friend are you? The promise is yet to manifest and you’re talking about their imprisonment and maltreatment. Here’s where the tongues begin to roll: ‘ya wukwara njakiri, kwushi ya ooo’ meaning, if it’s a joke, stop it – don’t joke me around, God!

I am so glad He continued to speak despite my jumpiness and oscillating emotions. God said he would punish those folks and cause his covenant people to come out with MANY possessions. Later in Exodus, he put a twist on it confirming that the enemy would look on his people with FAVOUR and GIVE them GIFTS so they do not LEAVE EMPTY-HANDED. Did you notice the specific mention of ‘Egypt’? I dare you to call that thing that’s been tormenting you by name and speak the word of the Lord over it.

So here’s what I heard – you are beloved. If God couldn’t trust you to handle it, he wouldn’t bother puttingDomestic and international transport of goods and cargo | transporti.co IT (whatever you might be going through) on you. Secondly, you are where you are on purpose and assignment. You will not spend a second longer than necessary. Thirdly, God will turn it around. Those things that have seemingly punished you will receive a good measure of what was doled you. Fourthly, favour is on you and this favour will attract gifts. Finally, the process is not in vain. You’ll not come out empty-handed. In the end, you’ll have something to show for it – great substance, properties, wealth, riches, goodies – graces!

You’re coming out loaded, Friend!

DON’T CRY

Luke 7 (NLT)
11 Soon afterward Jesus went with his disciples to the village of Nain, and a large crowd followed him.
12 A funeral procession was coming out as he approached the village gate. The young man who had died was a widow’s only son, and a large crowd from the village was with her.
13 When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!” he said.
14 Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it, and the bearers stopped. “Young man,” he said, “I tell you, get up.”
15 Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk! And Jesus gave him back to his mother.
16a Great fear swept the crowd, and they praised God.

A cry is an expressive response to distress or discomfort. For this woman, her distress was not only that she is going be left alone but that her only son who would have grown to protect and provide for her has just gone. He was the reason she has been able to carry on after the death of her husband; He was her pride, her joy, her hope; in fact, her everything. The prayers of most parents are for their children to live to bury them not otherwise and this woman probably prayed this prayer but it seems that her prayer was unanswered and the bearers are now ready to carry her dead son to the sepulchre.

The pain of separation consumes the widow from within; Thoughts of how she’d be treated by the other women in town ringsBeauty Girl Cry Stock Photo - Download Image Now - iStock through her mind. No husband, No son, no one to call her own, “Can I bear this all alone?” she thinks? To make matters worse, she perceives the aroma of his favourite meal being prepared by the mourning women and she contemplates waking him to eat but realizes she cannot because he’s dead. Immediately, tears begin to fall from her eyes but suddenly and amazingly she hears a voice whisper tenderly in her ears “Don’t Cry”.

Jesus arrived at this town called Nain which in the Greek is translated “Beauty, Pleasant” and in the Hebrew “Abode, Habitation” but at that time something unpleasant had just happened and a solemn removal was also taking place. Did you catch it? The boy had died in a pleasant place and is being carried away from where his habitation was supposed to be.

I told you a few weeks ago that a gate serves as a demarcation between two areas; a gate will either lock you in or shut you out and I keep wondering what would have happened had the bearers gone a far distance beyond the gate but thank God, Jesus came right on time!. He was right there at the gate, he wasn’t late. Friend, no matter what your circumstance is I want you to know that Jesus is at the gate, he won’t arrive late. Even if it seems He’s late and your stuff’s gone beyond the gate even down to the grave, Jesus will get there, resuscitate it and raise it. Shout Amen if you believe it. He did it for Lazarus, He can and will do it for you!

The scripture tells us that a large crowd was with this woman but will you agree with me that Jesus came just for her. It doesn’t matter how many folks are flocking with you, I want to let you know that Jesus can still spot you in the midst of a crowd and as a matter of fact, He has. As we read further on, verse 13 records that Jesus’ heart overflowed with compassion. Aren’t you pleased to know you have a compassionate God? He is not a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, He knows all our affairs, He cares and He is always near to wipe away any tears. Amen.

Afterwards, Jesus walked over to the coffin, touched it, and the bearers stopped. Did you see that? Friend, I don’t need to know who’s about to make away with your stuff but I want you to know that they will Stop! They cannot continue to cause you aggravation or pain, they must cease. Your sickness will stop, those creditors will cease to harass you, that trouble will discontinue in Jesus Name!

In Luke 8, there is an account of a woman who had a persisting problem, an issue of blood, until she made contact with Jesus. The scripture says “Immediately her issue of blood stanched” it stopped! I command every “Issue” in your life to Stop, Right Now!

So, Jesus raised the boy. He who was dead sat up. God has a way of causing dead things not only to live but to have being, Acts 17:28. God will revive every dead thing in your life, they will sit up, they will become active and they will talk: they will have an expression, make a sound, call for the attention of many and bring glory to His name. If I were you, I’d take a quick break just to Praise God for that…. Hallelujah!

After the boy talked, Jesus gave him back to his mother; this signifies complete restoration. God will hand back to you what originally has been or is rightfully yours. Never mind who snatched it off you or what they did along the way, the good news is that it’s coming back to you. Praise the Lord!

Gear Up!

I woke up this morning with this word impressed in my spirit. I had been reflecting on a number of things particularly my relationship with God. I had become lethargic and was drifting and if I didn’t cry out any sooner (like peter did while sinking), I would have sank.

Lord save me! That was and is still my prayer. I felt like the seed among thorns, planted but not yielding – my roots had been meddled with. I could worship and pray but not as before. See I had this ‘Eden’ relationship with God – he could show up anytime and it didn’t matter where, and we’d hang out till whenever. Until I became unavailable — too busy to dial in or hanging up too soon some on other times. I was convinced Jesus was still centre place while in reality, I was pushing him back stage. I had allowed the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things to consume me to the point no real fruit was being produced.

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. 1 Timothy 4:1

Now I didn’t denounce the faith subscribing to all things ‘Universal’. My belief and vocabulary did not change however there was a shift in my walk. And as I prayed to be restored, God told me to gear up.

a
Put on the full armour of God, so so that you can take your stand against the  devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:11

The armour is a protective covering that differentiates soldiers from civilians. In the same way, the armour of God helps believers to stand firm. It gives them support to hold steady and not succumb, to remain steadfast even when seemingly overcome. Having no armour indicates unpreparedness and unreadiness to fight. Being unequipped is like being handicapped because already you are disadvantaged and can easily become prey to the enemy yielding to his schemes.

We have different levels of devils fighting with all sorts of tools to defeat and capture us. Our relationship with God is under attack because if the enemy could just alienate us from God (our source, strength and safety) then he would have us. Furthermore, he is sowing seeds of disobedience, ignorance, corrupt thinking and falsehood – if he can get us to break the hedge then he would have free rein.

This is not a wrestling match against a human opponent. We are wrestling with rulers, authorities, the powers who govern this world of darkness, and spiritual forces that control evil in the heavenly world. Ephesians 6:12

We live in evil days. These are the days of battle Paul writes about and the conflicts in the warzone has thrown many people off-balance. Only those with girded with armour are secure and unshakable. You need a good grip and firm footing!

Therefore take up the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13

The armour is really not a fancy gear. A warrior without a weapon will in no time become a corpse. It doesn’t make sense if you are spiritual and refuse to don yourself with the armour. If you are situated anywhere around the warfront, the armour is essential for your safety. Without an armour, one can be knocked over or trampled. Some nations stock up on arsenal, armoury and other gadgets. That’s what gives them confidence they would win certain wars. Whether you run, hide or stand firm depends on what you’ve got. We have offensive and defensive weapons in our arsenal namely belt, breastplate, shoes, shield, helmet and sword. You have no clue how potent you are!

So stand strong, with the belt of truth tied around your waist and the protection of right living on your chest. On your feet wear the Good News of peace to help you stand strong. And also use the shield of faith with which you can stop all the burning arrows of the Evil One. Accept God’s salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:14-17

Belt of Truth This tool protects us from the lies and deceit of the enemy. When we have the belt on, our minds are renewed with the truth in the word tightening all loose ends around the waist.
Breastplate of Righteousness The enemy has no new tricks, he still goes about asking the age old question ‘did God really say.. will he do’? The breastplate covers our heart – chest area protecting our identity as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and strengthening us to maintain a life of holiness without compromise.
Shoes of the Gospel of Peace The command ‘go ye’ is still a requirement. Until we move our feet and do our bit, the kingdom will know no expansion. We must not stay indoors with our slippers or walk around barefooted – not venturing out to our Judeas, Samarias and the utter most parts of the earth. The gospel is the power God uses to save everyone who believes. Peace with God is outcome.
Shield of Faith This armour is our defence against the flaming darts and arrows unleashed by the enemy. These arrows can come in the form of deception, temptation or doubt but your faith can ward them off or bring them on their knees.
Helmet of Salvation This defensive weapon assures our victory – we win because our salvation has been procured through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Sword of the Spirit This offensive weapon enables us to slice and dice every argument and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and taking every thought captive to obey Christ. The word will activate the power and presence of God in our lives and cause the enemy to flee.

After we have donned our armour, we are to fight!

“…praying at all times in the Spirit…”
Ephesians 6:18aa

Prayer is that conference call you dial into to address certain items on your age
nda. Therein you bind and loose, plant and uproot, decree and establish. The one time you get to partner with God in decision-making. God seeks worshippers and gap-closers and when we collaborate with
him on these, victory is guaranteed. Don’t put it off, gear up now!

Sabo!

Now David had been told, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” So David prayed, “LORD, turn Ahithophel’s counsel into foolishness.” 2 Samuel 15:31

When I was much younger, there was an expression used to describe anyone known to be secretly at cross purposes with someone else or a mission. It was a very strong tag known as “Sabo”.

Sabo is an abbreviation of the English word Camouflagesaboteur which is one who engages in sabotage. Sabotage is a DELIBERATE act of destruction or disruption in which a person, property, or equipment is  DAMAGED. The primary goal of sabotage is to hinder, weaken, undermine, subvert and counteract NORMAL operations or GOOD reputations. Sabos are snitches, spies, betrayers, leakers, informants, conspirators, schemers, and plotters. They are witty, subtle, and cunning.

Sabos are poisonous, venomous, vicious, malicious, injurious, and above all suspicious. They are fickle, cheap, and cannot be trusted. Sabos appear to be for you when in actual fact they are against you. They are the ones who would cry out hosanna today and crucify tomorrow. A Sabo is ‘the devil in Prada’, ‘a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and the enemy in disguise as an angel of light. A Sabo is a spirit – a camouflage spirit! Delilah is a Sabo. Ahitophel is a Sabo. Jezebel is a Sabo. Absalom is a Sabo. Potiphar’s Wife is a Sabo. Judas is a Sabo. Can you think of any more?

Note Sabos are not far from home – they are keen lovers, close relatives, and bosom friends. You have no clue who they really are but they have information about you at their fingertips. It takes divine revelation and intervention to expose and disconnect them.

To overturn Ahitophel’s counsel, David prayed. Similarly, you need to pray to override and overrule the plans of your conspirators. Now make these declarations:

Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
Isaiah 8:10
Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us.
Jeremiah 50:36
A sword against her false prophets! They will become fools. A sword against her warriors! They will be filled with terror.
Romans 8:31
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will bring their plans to nothing; they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead, the mediums and the spiritists.

Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord ridicules them.
Zechariah 2:8
For thus said the Lord of hosts, after his glory sent me to the nations who plundered you, for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye:
Micah 3:7
The seers will be ashamed and the diviners disgraced. They will all cover their faces because there is no answer from God.”
Isaiah 47:13
All the counsel you have received has only worn you out!
Nahum 1:9
Whatever they plot against the LORD he will bring to an end; trouble will not come a second time.
Isaiah 28:18
Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with the realm of the dead will not stand.
Psalm 21:11
Though they plot evil against you and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed.
